Peter’s Profession of Faith
- What question did Jesus ask the disciples?
Jesus asked who the crowds thought he was?
- What was Peter’s reply?
Peter said that some say he was John the Baptist, returned from the dead. Others
thought he was the prophet Isaiah.
- Jesus then asked Peter what he thought?
Peter made a profession of faith. Peter said, that Jesus was the Christ - the
Messiah of God.
The First Prophecy of the Passion of Christ
- What did Jesus say would happen to him in the future?
Jesus said that he would suffer greatly; be rejected by the religious leaders; would
be put death; and would be raised from the dead on the third day.
- What did Jesus say about being his disciple?
Jesus said that to be his follower, it is necessary for a disciple to renounce himself -
put Christ first, take up the cross, and follow him.
The Transfiguration
- Jesus went to a mountain to pray. Who did he take with him?
He took Peter, James and John with him.
- What happened on the mountain?
Jesus was surrounded by a bright light. Two men appeared with him - Moses and
Elijah.
- What did a voice from the cloud say about Jesus?
The voice said, “this is my son - the Chosen One. Listen to him.
Who is the Greatest?
- What did Jesus do and say when the disciples were arguing about who
would be the greatest in the kingdom of God?
Jesus told a small child to come to him. Then he told the disciples the one who is
the least - like a child - is the greatest in the kingdom of God.
