The Mission of the Seventy Disciples
- In sending the seventy disciples, what did Jesus say about their task?
Jesus said the harvest is rich, but the laborers are few.
- What is the harvest and who are the laborers?
The harvest are those who have not heard the good news. The laborers are those
who will proclaim or announce the good news.
- In seeking for lodging or a place to stay, what were the disciples told to
do?
The disciples were told to seek to find a man of peace.
The Joyous Results
- What did the disciples report to Jesus when they returned?
The disciples said that many miracles were performed by God. They also said that
even the devils submitted to them when the name of Jesus Christ was
used.
- Jesus said something amazing about Satan. What did he say?
Jesus said that he saw Satan fall like lighting out of heaven.
The Adulterous Woman
- The Scribes and Pharisees brought a woman before Jesus who was guilty
of committing adultery. Why did they do this?
They were trying to set a trap - to force Jesus to decide between the Law of Moses
and Roman law.
- When Jesus was told that the woman must be stoned, what did Jesus say?
Jesus said that the person who was without sin should throw the first stone.
- What do we learn from the words of Jesus to the woman?
We learn that Jesus forgives sinners. We also learn that we should turn away
from our sins and not repeat them.
