Renouncing Everything

The Cost of Being a Disciple

    There is a personal cost in being a disciple. Each parable taught the same truth. It costs everything to be a disciple. The commitment to Jesus Christ must be total - nothing held back.
The Lost Sheep and the Good Shepherd
  • Who is the sheep in this parable? Who is the shepherd?
    The sheep are those who are lost.. The shepherd is Jesus Christ.

  • What is the truth that the parable teaches?
    Heaven rejoices when just one sinner repents.
The Lost Son - A Picture of Salvation
  • Who is the son in this parable? Who is the father?
    The son leaves home and is a sinner. The father is God the Father.

  • What do we learn about salvation from this parable?
    God forgives the sinner and restores him as a son - as if the son had never left home or sinned.
