Passion Week - The Messiah Enters Jerusalem
- The Passion week is connected to an annual celebration of the Jewish
people. What is that celebration?
The Passover is the most important religious celebration for the Jewish people.
- What does the Passover celebration have in common with the Passion?
The Passover celebration offers the sacrifice of lamb for the sins of the people. In
the Passion, Jesus Christ was offered as a sacrifice to atone for the sins of
the world.

“For God so loved the world, that he gave His only begotten son; that whosoever
believes in him, shall not perish but have everlasting life.”
Parable of the Wicked Vine Growers
- In this parable, who is the owner of the vineyard?
The owner of the is God.
- Who are the servants in the Parable? Who are the tenants?
The servants are like the many prophets of Israel that were killed by the people.
The tenants are the religious leaders; the ones who were given
responsibility to take care of the vineyard’.

Jesus is the son.
- How do you explain the parable?
The parable is a look into the future, anticipating the death of Jesus Christ.
Paying Tribute to Caesar
- The religious leaders asked Jesus if it was permissible to pay taxes to
Caesar. How did Jesus respond?
Jesus took a coin and asked whose head and name were on the coin. Someone
answered that it was Caesar’s. Jesus said to give to Caesar what belongs
to Caesar, and give to God what belongs to God.
