Who is the Greatest
- During the passover meal, the disciples had an argument. What were they
arguing about?
The disciples were arguing about who would be the greatest in the kingdom of
God.
- Why did Jesus do on another occasion when there was conversation about
the kingdom of God?
Jesus used a child as an example. He said that unless the kingdom was received
like a child, one would not even enter the kingdom of God
Jesus Washes the Disciples Feet
- Jesus rebuked the disciples for their attitude. What did Jesus do to help the
disciples understand about the kingdom of God?
Jesus washed the feet of the disciples.
- What important lesson was Jesus trying to teach the disciples?
A disciple is to serve others just as Jesus did in performing the task that would
normally be done by a servant. Disciples are called to perform unselfish
service to others.
The Gift of Peace
- Jesus talked about peace. What does the word mean to believers?
Peace is the absence of any kind of conflict or disturbance. This is especially true
where others are concerned.
- What is the source of peace?
Jesus said that he would give the believer peace. He also said that the Father would
send the Holy Spirit in his name. Jesus encouraged the disciples to not let
their hears be troubled or afraid.
Promise of the Holy Spirit
- Jesus promised that the Father would send the Holy Spirit. What will the
- Holy Spirit do for believers?
Jesus said the Holy Spirit will teach and guide believers into all truth. Jesus also
said that if we loved him, we would keep his commandments - love God,
love our neighbor and love each other.
