The Burial of Jesus

Who were the two men who buried Jesus?
Joseph of Arimathea and Nicodemus.
Who was Joseph of Arimathea?
He was one of the leaders and a member of the Sanhedrin.
Who was Nicodemus?
Nicodemus was the leader who came to visit Jesus at night on the first visit that Jesus made to Jerusalem. Jesus told Nicodemus that it was necessary to be ‘born again’ to enter the kingdom of God.

The Empty Tomb

Who were the first ones to discover the empty tomb?
Mary of Magdalene and some other women.
Mary saw two angeles in the empty tomb. What did she do?
Mary went to the disciples and told them that someone had taken the body of Jesus.
Who was the first person to meet the resurrected Jesus?
Mary of Magdalene was the first person to see the Lord.
Did the Lord permit Mary to touch him?
The Lord told Mary not to touch him - that he had not yet ascended to the Father.

The Message to the Disciples - The Men of Emmaus

Jesus gave Mary a message to give to the disciples. What did he call them? What was the message?
Jesus called his disciples ‘brothers’. The message was that Jesus was going to ascend to the Father - their Father; that he was going to ascend to God - their God.
Who were the next people to see the risen Lord?
The next people to see Jesus were the two men that Jesus appeared to on the road to Emmaus..
