Jesus was special - even as a child. John the Baptist makes an amazing statement about Jesus that is confirmed by the voice of God. Then - Jesus is tempted.
Jesus and the Religious Leaders
- How many days had passed before Joseph and Mary discovered that Jesus was
not with the group of travelers?
One day.
- Did Joseph and Mary find Jesus immediately after returning to Jerusalem?
No. The parents searched for three days.
- Where did they find Jesus?
Jesus was in the Temple area, talking with the doctors of religious law.
- Why were the doctors of religious law so amazed at Jesus’ wisdom?
Jesus was only eleven years old and regarded as child.
- John made a curious statement that was also related to Jesus’ mission on earth
the first time he ever saw Jesus. What was that statement?
John said, “Behold the Lamb of God that takes away the sins of the world.”
- What else did John the Baptist say about Jesus that was so astounding?
John said the he baptized in water, but there was someone else who was much greater and more powerful. This person would baptize the people with the Holy Spirit.
- When John baptized Jesus, what did the voice from heaven say?
“This is my Son - the Beloved. My favor rests on him.”
- Satan used all of his power in an attempt to cause Jesus to obey him. How did Jesus respond?
Jesus responded by quoting scriptures from the Holy Bible.
