Born from Above - The Declaration of Jesus
In this chapter, we learn how being born from above is connected to the
Kingdom of God. Jesus Christ also makes a powerful statement.
Jesus and the Exodus
- Jesus compared himself to an experience that the children of Israel had when
they were wandering in the wilderness. What was that experience?
The people were bitten by poisonous snakes. God instructed Moses to make a brass snake.
- How was the brass snake used in the wilderness?
The people who looked up to the brass snake were healed of their snake bites.
- How did Jesus compare himself with the experience in the wilderness?
Jesus was saying that just as people were healed in the wilderness by look to the brass
snake, in the future people would be saved by looking to Jesus Christ - the Son of
Man.
- What famous words did Jesus say when he spoke about believing in him?
“For God so loved the word - He gave His only son, so that everyone who believes in Him
will not be lost, but may have eternal life.”

- Was there something strange about Jesus sharing this truth with this particular woman?
The woman was a member of a race of people that the Jews hated. She was also a sinner.
- What did Jesus tell the woman at the well in Samaria about worshipping God?
Jesus told the woman that the time would come when true worshippers would worship God in spirit and in
truth.
- What declaration did Jesus say to the woman about himself when she spoke
about the Messiah who was to come in the future?
Jesus told the woman, “I am he - the Messiah. You do not need to look any further.
