The Widow from the Village of Nain
- Jesus performed many miracles of healing. What was different about the
son of the widow from Nain?
This the first time that there had been a miracle of someone being raised from the
dear.
- How did the some of the people respond to this miracle?
Someone in the crowd said that a great prophet has appeared.
The Parable of the Sower
- What does the ‘seed’ represent in the parable?
The seed is the word of God.
- What central truth does the parable reveal about the Kingdom of God?
The word of God is not received by everyone. It is received by people who have a
noble and generous heart.
The Parable of the Wheat and Tares
- Who planted the seed? What is meant by field? What are the good seeds?
What are the tares? Who is the enemy? When is the harvest?
Jesus - the Son of Man planted the seed.
The field is the world.
The good seeds are the sons of the Kingdom - believers.
The tares are the sons of the evil one - the devil.
The enemy is the devil - Satan.
The harvest takes place at the end of the age.
- What central truth is revealed by this parable?
The Kingdom of God is not received by every one. Some people will enter the
kingdom - and others will not..
